FIRE SAFETY, SECURITY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING, AUDIT AND CSR ACTIVITIES
Fire Safety Audit: Fire Audit will be carried out to examine the premises and relevant documents, to ascertain how the premises are being managed regarding the fire safety.
It is proposed to carry out the safety audit of PSUs/ Hospitals/ Banks/ others, to check the following aspects:-
Fire risk assessment and action plan for acceptable risks.
Emergency Plan for Managing Fires, including fire alarm system and evacuation plan(what to do if fire takes place).
Prevention, mitigation and protective measures taken.
Fire drills carried out and staff fire training records.
Fire Safety Maintenance Check List.
Staff information on Fire Safety and dangerous substances.
Check testing of ventilation system, Fire Fighting equipment functioning, electrical wiring in the building/s of the PSU/Bank/others and portable appliance testing.
Besides carrying out fire safety audit as per laid down Fire Safety Norms, advice will be rendered on gaps found in the audit and helping the Organization
in getting NOC, where required and suggesting suitable modern Fire Fighting system/equipment.
Disaster Management Plans and DM Audit: 58.6% of land mass in India comes under Zone III, IV and V for seismicity, i.e. high risk probability, 12% is prone to floods,
out of 7156 km of coast line, 5700 km is prone to Cyclones and Tsunami, 8% of hills in North, NW and West Coast are vulnerable to landslides. India is also prone to various
types of human induced disasters, like fires, terrorist related disasters, building collapse, accidents, etc. This surmises that the buildings, infrastructures and permanent
structures should be as per national building code, approved by Union Urban Development Ministry.
Keeping in view the above hazards and various socio economic, environment and awareness vulnerabilities of various States/UTs and consequent risk assessment analysis,
Govt. of India has given certain directions/guidelines as preventive and mitigation measures. As per Sections 37 and 40 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, it is mandatory
for all hospitals, organizations, office, commercial and residential buildings to have a DM Plan. As per Para 9.1.1 of Chapter 9 of National Disaster Management
Authority (NDMA) Guidelines on Earthquake Disaster, Response Plan is required to be prepared for all hospitals &school buildings /malls/entertainment
cine-plexes /office /commercial complexes. The aim is to take preventive and mitigation measures to avoid loss of lives and damage to infrastructures/buildings during
actual disasters.
CGFSDMC will carry out DM Audit of Hospitals/PSUs/Banks/others and help them in formulation of Contingency and Response Plans of their
administrative and operational buildings to include, inculcation of a culture of preparedness among employees, conducting general awareness program/s on do’s and don’ts
before, during and after a perceived disasters, help in carrying out risk assessment, hazard and vulnerability analysis of perceived disasters, inform each stakeholder
on their roles and responsibilities, before the arrival on the scene of the first responders from the district, like police, fire services, medical services, etc. and
recommending command, control and coordination structure for managing disasters.
Conduct of Mock Exercises: Like annual maintenance contract (AMC), the hospitals/PSUs/banks/others can hire us to execute AMC,
for carrying out two mock exercises per year, which is also mandatory, to test the DM Plans for their viability. The Mock Exercises will be preceded by a Table Top Exercise,
where the roles and responsibilities of all the stake-holders will be clarified and they will be given a simulation exercise to do the practice to learn about their roles
and control of the disaster.
School Safety & Hospital Preparedness Programs: Schools and hospitals are most vulnerable world over to natural and human induced disasters
and hence the first priority is being given on the recommendations of UNO and WHO, to make the schools and hospitals safe. Most of the PSUs and Banks have their own schools
and hospitals. We can impart general awareness and capacity development programs on schools safety and hospital preparedness. This will include helping the schools and hospitals
in making their DM Plans and conduct two mock exercises on perceived disasters in each school/hospital per year.
Our Training will help the concerned organizations to evolve GOOD PRACTICES IN CRISIS MANAGEMENT as under:
Boy Scout, their motto “Be Prepared” Being Unprepared Is No Excuse.
You Know The Threats-Get Ready For them.
Three Key Messages for Every Crisis.
Have a plan to deal a crisis.
Know the cause.
Save lives first.
First 4 to 48 hours are crucial (other than medical crisis).
Divide the responsibilities for simultaneous action.
Don’t panic or spread rumor around. Be patient.
At the time of crisis the management should be in regular touch with the employees, external clients.
Avoid being too rigid. One should adapt well to changes and new situations & Get outside help.
These trainings would be carried out under the guidance of known experts who have worked at senior positions from NDMA, Fire Dept.
and Security forces of Govt. of India.
Specialized training programs can be conceived/formulated for desired training areas by the experts with us who are well versed having experience with the Govt. by Senior Positions.
